Date, Time & Cost

  • On Your Bike will take place on Sunday 21st April.

  • The start/finish is from: Sonning Common Primary School, Grove Road, Sonning Common, RG4 9RJ

  • Please arrive by 10am, for a 10:30am start. Registration opens from 9am. Please enter by the Lea Road entrance.

  • Please remember On Your Bike is not a race, it is a fun family event and the roads are not closed to traffic. Riders will be set off in small groups at 1-minute intervals. Children under 16 must be under the authority of a responsible adult and stay with that adult for the duration of the cycle. We recommend that each adult is responsible for no more than 2 children under 16.

  • Registration is £7 per rider in advance (online entries shut Friday 19th April). On-the-day entries are subject to availability and are £10 per rider.

The Route

All routes start and finish at the Sonning Common Primary School.

There is a choice of a longer 20-mile route, a 12-mile route, and a shorter 6-mile route. 

The routes are planned to use quiet, rural countryside roads. Please note the roads are not closed for this event.

Registration

All riders who pre-register in advance will be sent their Event Numbers before the event. If you have pre-registered, one member of your group needs to "check-in" before your start.

Registration on the day is subject to availability and we advise you to pre-register where possible.

All riders who enter before 21st March 2024, have the opportunity to be entered into the win-a-bike draw (you must agree to have your photo taken for publicity purposes if you are the winner).

Your Bike/ Safety Equipment

Road, hybrid or mountain bikes are all suitable. Electric bikes, child seats, tag-alongs etc. are all permitted. Please, however, ensure your bike is roadworthy. Please make sure your tyres are fully inflated and you carry a repair kit which includes a spare inner tube and working pump. It is also advisable that you carry enough food and drink and a mobile phone with you.

The wearing of a hard shell style helmet shall be compulsory for riders under the age of 18. Senior riders are encouraged to do the same.

Refreshments

A variety of hot and cold refreshments will be available before, during and after the ride at Sonning Common Primary School.

There will be a refreshment stop at the Wyfold crossroads where there will be biscuits and fruit but please note you can only re-fill your bottles here (no cups will be provided).
